World Paths 101
Roma

Do you not find the Roma
to look somewhat Indigenous?

The few Roma who continue to work as fortune tellers and witches do not do so because they are “magick” beyond what we can all obtain. They do so because it is a job that they were historically forced into by colonizers. Most have now taken that power back.

Isn’t that interesting?

This is a known form of exploitation of the Knowledge and energetic flow in Mother Earth. Many believe it was simply done to ridicule those who were in their power and personal practices, not because anyone from Rome understood what the Roma (from Northern Sindhu) were looking at. Roma are a diasporic (an interesting word that the pagan community has strongly grasped) ethnic group originating to around 10th-century India. But research is ongoing. Recall, the word means: “the movement, migration, or scattering of a people away from an established or ancestral homeland.”

Trail of Tears, America was only one of many great relocations of indigenous around the world.

Roma History

When they first arrived in Europe in the 1300s and 1400s, dark-skinned with many Gods and Goddesses, they were relentlessly persecuted by those who already colonized that land. Pejorative words like “gypsy” were used. “Like the Jews, they were segregated and forced to move into ghettos before they were sent to concentration or extermination camps.” They were treated as “lesser” people. They were enslaved, legally hunted, murdered, and pushed into the margins of society.

It is from these war-torn fringes that we find relics of militarily organized Roma seeking to further migrate into western Europe at the end of the 1400s and early 1500s CE. They could not fight their way back. They were seeking a way to escape enslavement by Christian princes, who increasingly enserfed the peasantry, pagan or indigenous in the lands they conquered. This was the only direction.

CAVEAT: Many Practitioners feel that if you are not genetically tied to the blood of these indigenous, it is a disgrace to their culture to assume, or ‘culturally appropriate’, their identities.

Tagalog are exploited for the entertainment purposes of Americans in a “human zoo” at
Coney Island, New York, during the
early 20th century.

As stated, Roma were allowed to only work as performers, or entertainers such as “fortune tellers”, and partake in hard labor such as that of metal workers, horse traders, craftspeople, agricultural workers and various other menial tasked jobs. (Just as the American enslaved.) This fell in line with the colonization of other places of the world too such as that of the Tagalog (Pinoy, Pinay) people who were mistreated and showcased in fairs as “animals” or “barbaric people”.

None the less, physiognomy such as palmistry, the beginning of card reading, some tea leaf, a lot of coffee ground, and various other forms of divination were brought with Roma from Sindhu (India). (Seen still in today’s Turkey as tasseography and in dozens of places in Zhong Guo as tea leaf reading began there.)

The “foreign” lands of the Middle East, such as Egypt and Roma (Sindhu) were exploited and sought out by Europeans for their magickal, un-Christian entertainment and curiosities. This was done because the Roma were seen, along with other nonbelievers of the Church, as dangerous, demonic, taboo, or mystical and something to control if the Church were to remain in power.

It had become a fad amongst Europeans to do this to the traditions and practices they continued to colonize, to appropriate them into their society as “entertainment”. They were unable to see what truly lay behind the power.

Gender Bias

Roma, or Romani (females) specifically were cast as witches or heretics, and discriminated against for hundreds of years. Just as they were across the world – legit Roma or not. Despite the risk, this was the only way some families were able to earn a wage in the seemingly global “caste system”.

Today, some Roma do call themselves witches, and serve as Healers and Spell-casters in a community that now accepts and appreciates them more than ever. But make no mistake, being a witch is a job like any other to many. They were trained by their grandmothers to survive in this vicious cycle the rest of us call “life”.  They studied hard, those who chose to learn the secrets. Those who did not —moved away to big cities, erased who they were and assimilated.

Hollywood

As an aside, Romani witch characters like Wanda Maximoff, and for those who have seen it, as the Scarlet Witch — she has plenty of Magick. However, she does not need to fall into the stereotype, nor have her identity erased to do this.

Romani women have struggled with all of us to rise above where they were caste systems in generations past. Some ignoring the Medicine and Magick of our Ancestors and following the colonized mind pushed by the Church, some not. The first who comes to mind is the award-winning actress, writer, and filmmaker Mihaela Drâgan, who pioneered the burgeoning movement, Roma Futurism.

Inspired by similarly identity-based sci-fi aesthetics Afrofuturism and Sinofuturism, Drâgan created the cyberwitch archetype, a hybrid of the traditional hex-casting Romani witch and code-writing tech genius. A co-founder of feminist Romani theatre troupe, Giuvlipen — which means “feminism” in Romani — Drâgan and her fellow co-founder Romani actress Zita Moldovan recently produced a filmed play, ROMACEN: The Age of the Witch, about Romani cyberwitches who curse fascist politicians with magick and malware and time-travel to try stop the oft-forgotten genocide of Roma and Sinti in World War II.

Know Your Terms

There are those who chose to learn and keep the esoteric Knowledge passed to them from their Elders and kept it well. To use the term “gypsy”, “gitan”, or “gitanos” is pejorative to the Romany in many ways. It is found insulting and distasteful to most, especially the Elders. It is a painful reminder of the travesties that occurred and continue to occur to its people. “Gypsy” is often considered a relative term used to refer to the Egyptian people in a derogatory manner. The Roma do not descend from those they are lumped with.

Then again, there are those that have succumbed to the colonized mind and have accepted it. There is a loss of Roma pride, just as any culture can suffer. Their Spirit has been broken as the Spirit of many Indigenous, especially of the Americas, has been broken.

Again, for the record, Roma (Sinti or Sindhi), is the plural of the name for the people of Northern India, originating in the Punjab region. The singular of the word is Rom. (One)

It is not “Italian”.

It is not of European descent at all, but Zhong Guo and Sindhu. To think so is sometimes considered “cultural appropriation”. Some did migrate nomadically to Europe between the 8th and 10th centuries but only because the Roma are nomadic people, just as the Sámi.

The Roma use names such as “Kale” in Finland, “Sinti” in Germany and Eastern Europe and the term “Manush” in France. It is recommended that if you actually know a Roma, learn what their people refer to themselves as rather than just calling them “gypsies” or whatever the colonizers dubbed them. Bhārata is the Sanskrit word that most people of Sindhu use to describe themselves today.

Beginning Energy Work
Chakra Introduction

So far, we have visualized drawing to increase Focus by connecting dots:

We have been Earthing:

Reflection Spell: Earthing

And, we have even practiced some Star Magick
Beginning Energy Work
Star Magick

Today we are going to begin our energetic visualizations to enhance Focus. Dozens of Paths, and thousands of Practitioners already utilize methods like these for Healing, Grounding, and other energetic movement, exercise, Medicine and Magick.

Although we will not be utilizing the previously learned meditations as regularly, it is advised that you continue to practice them throughout your Journey. This is especially beneficial for those that wish to pursue their Second Degree with Golanv Circle, but more so for the Third Degree in Yona Circle. As stated, it will build the psychic muscle the more we use them.

Chakra Beginning

The chakra system originated in Sindhu between 1500 and 500 BC in the oldest text called the Vedas. Evidence of chakras, spelled cakra, is also found in the Shri Jabala Darshana Upanishad, the Cudamini Upanishad, the Yoga-Shikka Upanishad and the Shandilya Upanishad. This Knowledge has been shared with the world for a very long time as its practitioners understand the value of sharing that Knowledge, as doing so benefits us ALL.

In time, the chakra concept became a part of a complex set of ideas related to esoteric anatomy throughout Mother Earth. Some Practitioners are quite adept at this type of energy work as they have already integrated it into their personal practices. We will be working with the 7 major chakras and will begin by giving each one a brief description. In Sanskrit.

Word Origins

This is a Sanskrit word - “chakra” - meaning disk” or “wheel and refers to the energy centers in your body. It translates to the English word “wheel.” This refers to the way that chakras resemble spinning wheels or discs. To some, they are spinning orbs of rainbow light. To others they are a square of specific color.

What do you see?

In between these wheels are energy channels, which allow the energy to flow from one place to another, The Universe and Mother Earth. We can even share the energy between each other. These wheels or disks of spinning energy each correspond to certain nerve bundles and major organs in which we can move our personal Divine energy.

Root Chakra

It is known that the Root Chakra, or base chakra, is located in the region of the Graffenburg, or “G spot”, for the female of our species. (Behind the clitoris) and near the prostate for the male. Many men are never able to activate this region as they do not understand it is activated rectally, not through the penis. This inability is typically due to unhealed Cultural Shadow related to dogma.

When utilized and activated correctly, this chakra can be used to Charge Sigils, intensify Sex Magick, etc. This chakra is “perceived” at the base of the spine, as stated on many Paths, but is physically, energetically located here.

The Root Chakra governs our most basic survival needs. When this chakra is clear and energy flows through it freely, we feel secure and confident that we can easily fulfill our needs. However, blockage in this area can cause us to feel anxious and worried.

Have you masturbated lately? You may need to in order to clear the energy energetically. It is NOT “taboo”. (Cultural Shadow vs personal preferences)

The Spiritual Law of Karma

The Spiritual Law of Karma, if practiced, governs the first energy center. This is essentially cause and effect: what a person does comes back to him or her. Hindus regard it as a mechanistic process that must be simply acknowledged. But it is also complicated because there is no clear-cut measure of what actions are right and which are wrong.

Sacral Chakra

The second chakra, or second energy point, is located physically in the gonads, or testicles, for men and the ovaries for women. It is perceived a little higher on the spine than the Root Chakra. It is associated with creativity in all its expressions. Located in the area of our reproductive organs, the energy of this center can not only be used for biological reproduction, but creativity. It is representative of “creation” in ALL of its forms.

When channeled into higher energy centers here, it fuels the creative force that enables us to express in ways such as painting a beautiful picture, building a business, or create a life of love and abundance. However, if we are blocked here it can cause us to feel detached from Self, our Emotions as well as the emotions of those around us. Feelings of “isolation” are a give away to needing Shadow Work here. It is a vicious cycle in that we isolate ourselves when this is blocked, but further feel isolated and anxious to be alone and lonely.

The Law of Least Effort

If practiced, is very lively in the second chakra. It states that nature's intelligence functions with effortless ease, is carefree, seeks harmony, and exists in Unconditional Love.

When our vital energy is flowing through our center of creativity unobsturcted, we co-create our life. The solution to every problem is rarely on the level of the problem. Rather, it comes from a deeper domain of creativity such as this. Creativity is the process of taking the same raw material and creating different contexts and relationships between the components. This is actually where Spirit can be felt strongest, or put another way, this is “butterflies of love” live.

Planet: Mars

Solar Plexus Chakra

Its energy is at the navel in the spine. It is the seat of our power in the world. It helps us feel confident and full of self-esteem. When this center is open and flowing, we are capable of translating our intentions and desires into manifestation. However, when it is blocked, we can feel frustrated and ineffectual, doubt Self and questions our values This is where the realization and actualization of Matter begins, “awakening”.

The Law of Intention and Desire

Intention and desire in the field of pure potentiality have infinite organizing power. And when we introduce an intention in the fertile ground of pure potentiality, we put this infinite organizing power to work for us. This energetic law governs the third chakra. The seeds of Intentions and desires reside in our personal Soul. Nourishing the seeds we wish to germinate with our attention will lead to their fullest expression. (The Third plants the seed in the First. These two energy points work together well.) It is important to be clear about our intentions so we are not surprised when they bear fruit.

Planet: Sun

Heart Chakra

The heart chakra is located at its name sake, in the center of the chest. It governs Self love, Self acceptance, emotional balance and understanding “matters of the heart”. It holds the unifying energy of love and compassion that is both given and received from the world. The heart chakra is dedicated to overcoming separation and division.

When the heart center is blocked, there is a deeper sense of alienation from others. When the heart center is open and flowing, we feel connected at a deeper level to all beings in our life.

The Law of Giving and Receiving

This is the law that governs the heart chakra for several Paths. Know that Love can take many different forms at different stages of our Journey. The love of child for their mother is different than a mother’s love for her child. A friend’s love is different than that of a passionate lover or the love of a student for their teacher. However so, the common thread in each of these expressions of love is the impulse to unify—to overcome separation. This is the nature of the heart.

Every act of giving is simultaneously an act of receiving. Each time we welcome a gift into our life, we are providing the opportunity for someone to give. This is an Arcane Art. MAGICK. Just as a healthy physical heart receives blood from the periphery which it then oxygenates and pumps back out, our emotional heart stays healthy by receiving and giving love in all its forms… so does our Medicine and Magick. #StayOpen

Throat Chakra

The fifth chakra is the center of expression. When the fifth chakra is open and flowing, we have the confidence that we are capable of communicating our needs. It brings mentality, willpower and concentration.

When the fifth chakra is obstructed, a person will often feel that they are not being heard. In order to feel alive and empowered, it's important that this energy center is clear. Blockages in this area are often associated with thyroid problems or chronic neck pain.

Have you worked with this energy?

The Law of Detachment

An open fifth chakra enables us to express our Truth without concern for censors or critics. This does not mean we say things that are intentionally hurtful or insensitive, but we speak in thought out words. People with open centers of communication are skillful in expressing their needs in ways that are life supporting. Anxiety over how people will react to our views does not arise when energy is flowing freely through the chakra of expression. An interesting act that will help us find our “voice” is singing around others and NOT being “ashamed”.

Taking time to develop a higher state of Consciousness will allow us to begin to recognize and isolate the source of negative emotions. We grow detached from our desires while continuing to find ways to fulfill them. A need can turn into a want and visa versa.

The Law of Detachment reminds us that we can choose our words and actions, but we cannot control the responses or outcomes to them. When our intentions are clear, and our heart is open, we will spontaneously demonstrate “right speech” for our Highest Benefit, trusting that the Universe will handle the details.

Third Eye Chakra

Located in the forehead, between the brows, it is the center of insight and intuition. It allows one to use their psychic powers as well as physically communicate with others or between places. When this center is open, we have a deep sense of connection to our inner voice, or Higher Self, and feel guided in our choices. When blocked, there is a sense of self-doubt and distrust. The opening of this chakra is usually associated with a clear sense of connection to ones dharma on some Paths, or purpose in life to others.

The Law of Dharma,
or Cause and Effect

This is the Law that governs the sixth chakra. We have within us a wise voice guiding us to express the highest aspects of our nature. Listen to this still inner voice, which is guiding us to manifest our fulles potential. Quiet the internal turbulence that is filled with the voices of others. This aids us in identifying the sound of our own Soul, or Divine, or Higher Self, speaking. It has only one desire—for each of us to remember our essential nature as a spark of the Divine, whatever that is to each manifestation.

Planet: Moon

When fasting, a white fruit such as lychee, or the pith of citrus fruits with Water is ideal.

Crown Chakra

This chakra is located just above or at the top of the head. It has to do with our connection with our Spirit and Divinity. It is visualized as a lotus flower at the crown of the head on some Paths. When the lotus unfolds its petals, the memory of wholeness is restored. Remember that our essential nature is unbounded, and that WE are Spirit manifested as a person in Matter.

Reverend Richoz believes that we are all different avatars of Source, or manifested Divine Energy. This is also the full expression of yoga—the unification of being with action, of Universality with individuality. Physically feeling the energy flow through us energetically.

FOOD CAVEAT: The crown chakra focuses more on fasting and detoxing than it does on food. It focuses more on the spiritual aspect of our bodies, our minds. Detoxing can help our bodies flush out toxins, boost our energy, and clear our mind. Meditation and yoga is an excellent way to strengthen and heal the crown chakra. It can teach us to live mindfully and take some quiet, peaceful time for ourselves amidst our chaotic lives. Meditation herbs or essential oils such as sage, lavender, frankincense, and juniper are wonderful in balancing this chakra as well.

The Law of Pure Potentiality

Anything is possible.” The Law of Pure Potentiality governs the seventh chakra. When our roots are receiving nourishment from Mother Earth in the first chakra, our creative juices are flowing in the second, our intentions are empowered in the third, our heart is open and are exchanging love with those around us in the fourth, we are spontaneously expressing our Highest Self in the fifth, we are in touch with our inner voice in the sixth, only then, does energy move into the crown chakra and we remember our essential nature as infinite and unbounded.

The thousand-petaled lotus flower unfolds and we know Self as a spiritual being temporarily localized to a body and mind.

THIS is why many Practitioners the world over believe in the manipulation of energy as they do in their Medicine and Magick. They feel it inside of them —a part of who they are. Meditating on the ground does amazing things to the human body. Keep going!

Practice. Practice breathing. Practice closing eyes and seeing the corresponding color or hearing the sound that the planet’s atmosphere would allow of our voices to make. Ohm. Pull that energy inside. This is your power. This is your Medicine and Magick.
