Wahya Circle
Tuesday Tarot

Divination 101
Cartomancy

We are going to spend a few Tuesdays continuing our exploration of tarot as a form of divination while we finish up our walk with Wahya Circle. We choose this form of divination at 3CMM because it is one of the most common forms of divination in the world, and one of the most easily concealed. Like a deck on playing cards shoved in a pocket when in a pinch.

“Tarot”, or divining by cards, has been around for hundreds of years. Some are even trying to bridge the gap of time between the Ancient and the Modern as many Practitioners of Modern Time KNOW that Practitioners of Ancient times divined in ways similar to what we still do to this day.

There is hope with today’s Spirit as we are being allowed to study more and more archeologically, that the doors of practices from times past will begin to open more and more for those who seek them.

Divination 101
Cartomancy
VIIIs - Eights - 8s

When present in your tarot spread, EIGHTS are the number of ‘strength’. The number 8 in tarot symbolizes solidity of foundations, firm balance and harmony. It is also found to be extremely lucky in business and matters of finance. Numerologically, the number 8 represents balance, achievement, and abundance. It's also associated with the infinity symbol, which represents the idea that everything in life has a purpose!

The 8 of Pentacles shows a deep dedication to perfecting a skill or craft through focused effort and practice, signifying a time of intense learning, meticulous work, and striving for mastery in a particular area, whether professional or personal; it emphasizes the importance of hard work and attention to detail while cautioning against becoming overly consumed by one task to the detriment of other aspects of life

Cups — Chalices, Hearts (Emotional)

Walking away from unhappiness or drama, finding oneself.
Taking a break. Stopping because something was missing. River is dry. walking away from drama. Time to give up. Something was not healthy. Heeding call.

Eight of Cups does not bode well for most in physical aspects, especially if there is extensive Shadow Work to continue.  It can suggest that the one we were first attracted to or loved has now been overshadowed by someone or something else. Symbolized by the Moon eclipsing the Sun in the sky. Many who receive this card in a reading now want to be with someone else or doing something different and may be having difficulty finding the Strength or courage to leave their current situation or partner. Why? It is typically because fear that it will be “too difficult”. Abandonment and fear of abandonment are at play here too, hence, the unresolved Shadow.

Other thoughts to consider when reading the cards surrounding this one are in the realm of a decision to walk away from something that is no longer fulfilling, representing a need to let go of an unfulfilling situation or relationship to pursue something more meaningful, often signifying a period of transition and personal growth through change and self-reflection; essentially, it's about courageously moving on from what is not serving you anymore.

KEY ASPECTS FOR 8 OF CUPS in Physical, Emotional, Thinking Realms

Swords - Scepters, Spades (Thought)

The Eight of Swords tarot card depicts a blindfolded and bound personl surrounded by eight swords. It can represent feelings of being trapped, hopeless, or restrained. However, the card can also suggest that the person's limitations are self-imposed and that they can break free. The water at their feet can symbolize LISTENING TO PERSONAL INTUITION CAN LEAD TO LIBERATION.

Interference. Feeling of being trapped or frozen by thoughts. One cannot see full picture. Over intellectualizing. What is controlling you? Is something hiding from you? Self restricted? Do you refuse to see options? Look at the card, RWS. This person is surrounded but there is a way “out”, do they or will they see it? Psychological entrapment, restrictions, powerless has been caused by Self or Other. Eight of Swords. What will be your ‘remedy’ to better the situation or share for another whom you drew this for?
