Power Animal Journey II
#NoTwoPathsAreTheSame
Using this upcoming time of QUIET introspection, time away from Lessons, Involution, …we do hope you will have time - OR MAKE TIME - to attempt this Journey.
As a planet, we are tilted away from our star at this time and therefor its magnetic interfering energy. It is an ideal time to make an effort, even a small one, to verify the Animal Ally that has come forward and it is thought of as a Power Animal.
Is it, or have you begun feeling someone or something new is trying to reach you in order to guide the new year?
If we have tried several times before to meet our Power Animal or a new Spiritual Animal Ally, let some time elapse between attempts and then try again.
What do you see? Maybe it is not an Animal Ally that you need right now. Maybe it is a Plant Ally.
What do YOU See?
Wahya Medicine
Ancient cultures and indigenous humans believe that ALL animals, including humans, share the same spiritual essence with each other. They also believe that some animals are attracted to and present themselves to us in specific moments of our lives to reveal messages.
Have you Journeyed, yet?
Here is an example of an totem from other practitioners and its symbology when present:
The Wolf Spirit Animal (totem) symbolizes:
Strong Instincts and/or intuition
High intelligence
Loyalty
Communication
Desire for freedom
History of the Wolf Spirit Animal
The Wolf has appeared countless times throughout our planet’s history. In modern culture, humans began to associate wolves with negative qualities such as the darkness in that of mythical Werewolves such as the story of Lycaon the King and Zeus.
In Aesop’s Fables they are portrayed as being evil and dangerous. This is further evidenced in stories such as “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” and “The Wolf in Sheep Clothing.” The Brothers Grimm story of “Little Red Riding Hood” also portrays the Wolf as ferocious and intimidating.
Luckily, wolves have not always been seen in such a negative light. In fact, wolves and humans once lived together according to some historians. They also share many parallel human traits.(Psychology Today article)
Indigenous Americans perhaps have the greatest symbolism for wolves. They modeled themselves after the Wolf in hunting methods, cooperation and efficiency, valuing them as proud hunters, loyal friends, and intelligent teachers. They learned as humans from wolf behaviors.
Wolf is a spiritual pathfinder, which symbolizes intelligence and leadership.
Looking around the world at other societies that have wolf stores, we are reminded of Rome. Rome has one of the best-known Wolf-founding legends. As the legend goes, Romulus and Remus the two founding brothers of Rome, were raised and suckled by a She-wolf.
In Egyptian mythology, the Wolf Wepwawet (also seen as Upuaut, Wep-wawet, Wepawet, and Ophois) was originally a war deity, whose name meaning is “the opener of the ways”.
It is evidence of the connectivity of all things to know that in Indigenous American cultures they believe that wolves have a special connection to Spirt and have the ability to help us find our Paths in life as well.
GO WAHYA!
The Mongolians, on the other hand, believe they are descendants of wolves. The legend goes, in Northern China, a small Turkic village was raided by Chinese soldiers who slaughtered all but one small infant. An old She-wolf named Asena. She found the baby and nursed him until he grew. She then gave birth to half-wolf half-human cubs, from which the Turkic people were born.
Asena is the name of the She-wolf associated with the Oghuz Turkic beginning myth.
The Ancestor of the Göktürks is also a She-wolf, mentioned yet unnamed in two different "Wolf Tales" recorded by Chinese chroniclers.
In Asia, the wolf is the guardian of the entrance to heavenly, or celestial realms. It is also of note that the Wolf is also said to be among the ancestry of Genghis Khan.
Beginning Practicum
Mother Night - Yule Log Lighting
Mother Night is celebrated on the night BEFORE WINTER SOLSTICE by many in Reverend Richoz’s family. They will be doing their annual Yule log lighting as well as sharing a brief story of the candles for the celebration and their meaning with those who wish to know it at school and work. What are your practices? You may be noticing a change for this time of year, if so, what are they? What will you try this year, or, will your traditional practices mean a little more this year?
Power Animals
Do you currently work with a power animal? What kind of animal is it? How long has it been your power animal? Have you made a Journey to strengthen the bond and know your animal better, or to be given another animal guide? Do you know the plight of the animals in current life? Are they an endangered species? Do you “help” them in turn for their Spiritual guidance to you? Do you feel you are in the same place as when this animal came to you to guide you through that part of your life? Do you feel the power animal has helped you grow? Do you receive signs that it is time to Journey for an additional or new power animal, as we all know change is constant, or do you feel this animal can truly guide you through this life as it manifests the traits that it has? What traits does this animal exhibit that you need to help you grow in your life and practices?
These questions could go on. There is much to contemplate about Power Animals. To believe that the relationship is only one way is detrimental to the power that animal brings to you for manifesting. It is an indication of needed Ego Work when relationships are pervieved as “one sided’.
Feed the animal, feed your Spirit.
