Monad Two - Deuteroneira
”Second Sleep” - “to nurture”
The Second Monad is called Deuteroneira in its contemplation by the Great Thinkers. Deuteroneira, or “second sleep”, is believed to evolve after Protoneira Experiences became stagnate in physical patterns of Matter. Experiences needed to be evolved. Divine energy, or Deity, manifested a second avatar, or manifestation of Divine Energy. This Second Monad, just as the First Monad, is an Experience which holds countless Souls with Deuteroneirian characteristics. In a fashion just as the first avatar, every version of this Monad’s characteristics of manifestation are expressed.
Deuteroneira’s main purpose is to evolve the Protoneira Experience, helping to move that Experience of Matter forward, or backward, perspective dependent.
”Deuteroneira makes the square wheel round.” It can now move in Experience as a wheel.
Deuteroneira studied Protoneira’s patterns and attempted setting them all into motion, actively making each pattern practical. (We will change tenses here for perspective) However, Deuteroneira’s work was under-valued because Protoneira Thought that Deuteroneira was trying to “take over” its manifestation or what it had manifested. A difference arose. Protoneira’s action/inaction did not give Deuteroneira permission, or caused it, to not move in its evolution.
Deuteroneira would not apply the practical applications without securing permission from Protoneira, thoughts remained thoughts, or thoughts unrealized. The transverse Experience is also true in human-kind. There are manifestations at every level Experiencing action over Free Will of another manifestation. Could ‘doubt of Self’ been at play here?
Regardless, Deuteroneiran Souls know the meaning of true loyalty. When evolved for growth, they understand the importance of nurturing everything in their lives not just other entities and energies of their own manifestation. In relationships they protect their partners. They do not necessarily enjoy ‘stepping on toes’ unless absolutely necessary. Deuteroneirans have excellent observation and analytical skills that some believe are second to none. This can be good, bad, or indifferent. They roughly understand how to take ideas and turn them into practical applications. “I have to make the wheel round or it won’t roll.”
However, they have a tendency to second guess themselves, deferring to others, causing them to not follow through on their own divine Intuition. “But, what if I round the wheel and it doesn’t roll?” They are remarkable in creating practical and long-range systems and plans, yet have difficulty moving ideas and plans into reality. Another example that immediately comes to mind is someone who protects their abuser, or denies the abuse of another, stalling out the evolution or healing of Self and Other. “I know the abuse is wrong. I know it causes me pain.” But then they say, “but XYZ will be alone” or “they wont’ do it again” or continue to stall themselves out in other ways.
Sound like anyone you know? While we all can exhibit these characteristics at different times in our lives, and in varying degrees, some remain here for this life, slipping between the manifestations of the Monad. This is where Unconditional Love comes in, along with Acceptance, sometimes Forgiveness and “loving the unlovable”.
In a more public setting, such as work or Ritual, they do tend to feel more comfortable being an assistant rather than being in a leadership position, but some will try their best. It is extremely important to keep up with Ego and Shadow Work to know if one is truly serving in a beneficial capacity for others fort his reason. The other side of that coin, some Deuteroneirians Experience “resentment” because they do not LIVE THEIR TRUTH. This would be the individual who says, or thinks, that they are a leader/manager… but are not capable of even waking up on time, much less making time for that Ritual or morning meeting.
They tend to become resentful after they are presented with an opportunity for growth. Some who are in this Monad are sometimes offended at what is being offered for growth or benefit of Self. They will often allow it to pass by for one reason or another, logical or not. So, it can be a cycle they move through over and over. Take for example, one can almost hear a Deuteroneirian say, “No I am not interested in being the leader.” One year later, they may question, “Why am I not the leader?” (Some cause chaos in their community because of the inability to see their own role in these dynamics.) Their Spirit knows they are supposed to be evolving but we as a species have disconnected greatly from our Whole Beings over the last few thousand years. Social medida and the way of Western Thought does not foster individual growth. Deuteroneirians DO have the capability to move through a system in order to help others work more practically AND can evolve themselves, but THEY have to decide on the “when”. Awareness has to increase. Admission of personal Truth has to increase. Ultimately, most are simply satisfied that they are making a difference to the group, business or system assisting, or helping in some small way. Bottom line, moving the idea to action is most important to them.
Divination 103
Second Monad, Major Arcana
The Second Monad, Deuteroneira, invariably helps the First Monad, Protoneira, and is usually very supportive of them. However, Deuteroneira tends to get impatient after a while with Protoneira’s inaction even when they themselves suffer from inactions. An expression of the Second Monad characteristic is to pass by First Monads to take action on and in their own right. Even then, Deuteroneira often continues to prop Protoneira up. (An enabler who cannot help themselves become better.) At times, the Second Monad acts in a way that is detrimental to them both. Remember, we all only have so much Time … how much will you give to another? Are you holding yourself in this space for another?
Proa is also often given the credit for what Deutera has done. The reason being this is often okay, Deuteroneira finds it extremely difficult to take center stage, and very hard to take strong action. Remember, they do not wish to be “leader”. They have not began to value Self in a way that benefits. It is difficult for Deuteroneira to reject or condemn anybody. We often hear them say things like, “I just want everyone to get along” without even recognizing why they are truly NOT “getting along”. With that, Deuteroneira often relies on the Third Monad, Tritoneira, to actually do the hard jobs.
Deuteroneira is very attached to Tritoneira and has a love/hate relationship to the Fourth Monad, Tetroneira. A good example of this in a negative light is that of Sibling A/Parent A who cannot be without Sibling B/Child B… but Sibling B is with Other C. Other C (Tetra) is more “evolved”, yes, but their Self esteem was destroyed as a child through abuse and do not feel they can move beyond where they are. They do not even know the words “Shadow Work” most tmes. Traumas can go DEEP and we do not yet know everything that can be effected as we are only NOW as a modern society looking at Mental Wellness FOR REAL. We have no idea as a species what effect the Digital Age is going to have on our children.
Anyway, Deuteroneira is the most orderly of the Monads, and at times can be compulsive in this regard. Remember, “compulsive’ means “resulting from or relating to an irresistible urge, especially one that is against one's conscious wishes.” An example of this is Deutoneira’s lean on Tritoneira as one may lean on a coworker, boss, guru, preacher, teacher, etc. or one who manifested in a different level of Matter. Their draw to this Monad speaks to the innate knowledge of evolution of Spirit. We KNOW, on some level, we are “supposed to be doing something”. Practitioners at a Deutonoeiran level will often second guess their own Spell Work and belittle it thinking the other Monads is “better”.
“Do you do this?” This is highly indicative of the need for Shadow or Ego Work.
Having stated the general behavior patterns for the Second Monad, let us interpret the following Tarot cards to see how many behaviors fit nicely into the Second Monad. Everything described within these behavior patterns are reflected in every card here in varying degrees.
The statement; “I shall sit here until I am fully ready, or I shall wait until I have all that is needed to complete the task. I will wait.” This is one of the Second Monad’s behaviors that stop them in their tracks.
EXAMPLES
I will do it when I have money.
I will do it when I have Time.
I will do it when I have (something outside of Self).
We have no control over anything but our OWN action, reaction, or inaction.
PURPOSE
Regarding the Second Monad, Deutonoeira, it was to enter the world of Matter, with the purpose of gathering information and learning how to interact in the physical world via information gathered from Protoneira, who is often lacking in placing those identified patterns into active application for their Experiences. Deutoroneira places the Knoweldge into action, and begins to move forward. The challenge is to be ever evolving.
CORRESPONDENCES
The key phrase for the Second Monad is “To nurture.” Here is where we find the perfectionist. Remember, those who manifest here “like to put things into order”. They are highly ethical, open and honest Souls. They are often unable to work beyond that step. Anxiety often sets in.
This Monad’s planet is the Sun and its Virtue, as seen on other Paths, is Honesty.
Every single thing, whether it is the human or Animal or Plant Allies, Elementals, or anything in the Universe, is essential to this great work. Ultimately every thing is Awake to some degree. Although these individuals can be amazing thinkers, they are often unforgiving to those that do not share their thoughts and ideas, feeling, or even what is perceived as “high morals” and ideals.
They are found to be most unforgiving to others who manifested around them, but more often than not, it is a larger Shadow that has not been dealt with.
The Tower
The first card we see when studying the Second Monad is The Tower. Depending on which deck you prefer to study from, say the Marseille scene verses the Waite-Rider-Smith Deck, or a deck not even based on the RWS system, the building (tower) is perceived as an Illusion in most occult teachings. (Unless a building is literally on fire, even then, some consider it an illusion of this reality.)
Many Practitioners tend to agree with this concept whether they can actually subscribe to it or not. It is perceived as whatever is deluding you from your evolution. The difference right away, we see is a lightning bolt hitting the tower at night causing the tower to be completely engulfed with fire and the two figures are “falling to their death” from a high isolated frozen mountain. The Marseille scene shows a sun flare hitting the tower during the day, not setting anything on fire however the crown is blown off.
The Tower in other decks is depicted differently in that it is not high on a cold snowy mountain out of reach from others, but on relatively flat ground. Sometimes The Tower is even drawn out of scale and it becomes obvious that these two figures could not fit through these windows. So, many perceive this as all illusion and the other figure Is apparently falling out of a doorway. Yet even others recognize that it is of a turbulent emotional state of Matter.
When looking at a Non-RWS deck, we see the picture changes but the meaning carries through. The “Essence” or “Council” of other artists books are crucial to interpreting symbology that has been removed for this learning tool. You are most wise to understand what cards are equivalent in the decks you are studying with to read the Stream Consciousness story.
What do you see? Can you connect the meanings of this card, its “illusionary” tales and the Second Monad? Does the card equivalent in the deck ou prefer to work with carry the same definition and symbology? What is it missing?
Reverend Richoz’s quick interpretation of this card: “Just looking at it as it is, symbolically, the “two fell from the one”. This makes sense as the designer of this deck had a chosen Path that held this belief. Divine Energy blasted into Matter and becomes “two” —Deutononeira. “
Death
The next card we look at is Death. This card has the most life affirming symbols than any other card. Behind change is “ascension” to Spirit, ascension in spirit/ascension with spirits. This card reminds us that this physical life is only a mask; a visage of Divine Experience. Some Practitioners will refer to this in a way to perceive our bodies as “temporary costumes” for this set design. (Wiccan)
We wear these costumes to Experience it and its physical mind and how it relates to the other Beings in costumes with their remarkable minds and own Experiences. Everything that we see is seen through this costume or mask. We are beginning to hear younger generations speak of this as our “mod” or “life mod”. “You can mod your life how you want.”
Looking at this card, it shows a skeleton holding a banner with the Mystic Rose emblem on it. (Yorkshire Rose?) This flower represents Life. The brilliant sun of immortality shines beyond the two towers (Second Monad?), saying “you are not going away” and that “death is a transitory Experience” or “transformative” Experience. Death is not always a manifestation we go through many times, but it is one that we can Experience many times through ohers. Other manifestations such as Plant and Animal Allies around us Experience this as well. Bugs. Plants. Everything has a Birth-Life-Death-Rest/Return cycle.
Did you happen to notice the differences in the cards from different decks again? In the Waite Rider Smith Deck the Skeleton holds no weapons, however the Tarot De Marseille holds a sickle tending the Earth; body parts, plants and bones all being tilled for new growth. We change in form placing another costume, avatar, or “skin” (as younger Practitioners understand it) on ourselves, in order to Experience What Is. Death is neither a gate to pass or path to travel, just a costume change, or “mod”. Key interpretation here would be renewal, rest or creation.
Reverend Richoz’s quick interpretation of this card: Death is here now, waiting to Experience again. Proa has manifested into Matter and energiezed a humanoid creature, the skeleton. The skeleton moves… that is Deutoneira.
The Moon
The final card we look at for the Second Monad, we see characteristics represented by the Moon card. Studying the card, we see sixteen main moon rays and sixteen secondary moon rays in the RWS decks. We lose this aspect of manifestation for the Streams of Consciousness when we choose to use other cards to study by.
Some recognize the shape of these individual “moon rays” as the Hebrew letter Yod, which connects in to the Kabbalah and Ceremonial practices of its designer. Associations with that are with the "tetragrammaton" or four letter name of God, YHVH or Yahweh. You can arrange the four Hebrew letters such that they look like a human shape, with the two Hs for hips/legs and arms/shoulders, the V being the torso and the Y being the head. It's related to the biblical idea that humans were created in a divine image.
It is also known that the the Hebrew calendar is based on lunar cycles which feels relevant to the Moon of it all.
This card is felt to represent Illusion as well. This card expresses a life of imagination only seeing the limited physical plane. Matter, not Spirit. In the symbology of the card, we see the path to the two towers (Second Monad) is traveling into the unknown. The white dog and brown wolf represent fears of the physical, intellectual mind, the mind that sees the limits —yet it cannot figure out how to see through to its transformation of its manifestation of Matter. “I would do it, but I may fail”, or “I will be the assistant, not the manager” mentality of Deutoneira. However it can see glimmers (moon rays) of reflected light, from Higher Self which can be motivating towards that evolution. It shows Awareness of the Stream. Like every scene on the Tarot, this card is a symbol of something that is able to go far, yet fear stops it in its tracks.
“The intellectual light is a reflection, and beyond it is the unknown mystery which it cannot shew forth.”
As we study The Moon further, we see the natural mind illuminates our animal nature. The Moon is representing the face of one’s higher mind sending peace and stillness to us to evolve with, as seen in the animals, the dog and wolf. The Wolf (Wahya) is believed by some to be symbolic of “from whence we came”. The Dog is where we are. The soft dew falling from the moon is our every unifying thought that one is able to pour upon the ground for seeding. Notice these thoughts from this mind, they are being poured past the towers. Nothing is hidden from anyone it has always been in front of everyone.
Be still.
Experience.
