First Monad Court
As we being, lay these cards before you. If you wish, lay card equivalents from a deck that also calls to you so you may complare them as we walk. You may even compare multiple decks or tarot to determine if other decks can be utilized to teach these concepts. As mentioned last week, the Tarot cards that represent the Souls of Protoneira are The Fool, The Hierophant, and The Chariot. Though these cards have their own separate meanings in divination, both yours and their designers — HERE, we are introducing each card to you through the lens of “Monads and Stream Cycles”.
All three cards express the same Protoneira Soul theme, exhibiting both their assets and their challenges. For these particular Lessons the Monad story will only be expressed through the Tarot, the Rider Waite Smith deck. (ANYONE is welcome to correlate and translate the Story of the Monad and stream Cycle to any deck they wish. To maintain the Knowledge we share, please have representation of all aspects covered without judgment or seeding/reseeding non-beneficial emotion when doing so. Remember, energies channel through creative expression freely.)
PURPOSE
Regarding the First Monad, Protoneira, it was to enter the world of Matter, with the purpose of gathering information and learning how to interact in the physical world. Protoneira is often lacking in placing those identified patterns into active application for their Experiences. Not being able to move forward with the ideas is the greatest challenge. Trying to find the right way for things to be, caused a blind spot for all the infinite ways things can be.
BEGINNING
As we begin our Journey, The Fool, Hierophant, and Chariot are believed to express Divine Energy’s first attempt at entering into Matter from Spirit.
Every possible variation on this theme is to be found in the Protoneira Souls’ Monad and their many lives. This includes each life now, past, present and future as well as Dimension. Some even believe this happens all at once, or has already happened…. we are simply remembering the Experience.
The Fool
With this understanding, let us begin with The Fool.
Many believe that Divine Energy (All That Is, the Name That You Call It), cleaved itself in two polarities when it passed from Spirit to Matter. Some believe this is the Goddess and God on some Paths. This separation of “one” (proa) into “two” occurred at this first universally explosive effort of Consciousness, or Awarene Experience of Matter. Some Paths, such as Wicca, believe that it had the first reaction to Matter by the driven attempt of “making sense of it all.” In Chaos, Thought was the First Experience. After understanding the physical reality and digesting the Experience of Matter in this way, the birth into it, which was of course wholly unfamiliar before that point.
The Souls of Proa’ (Protoneira), those represented by The Fool, make sense of the material world around them through the Experience of it, no matter the cost, if any, for this life. Proa’ formulate ways of relating, from simple to complex. What is this thing? What is this sensation? What am I sensing?
The numeral 0 is assigned to the Fool, the “no-thing” and “everything”, a spectrum of Being from agendered to all genders, ALL at the same time --constantly being created. As Spirit is the pure, unconditional, ungendered Awareness of Experience in Matter. How one “manifests” in their Stream Cycle (their identity) is up to them per Free Will as many believe. It is only the human animal that has been caught up in disallowing Spirit to manifest as is determined divinely, is Written… or simply chosen by the Individual as they “sense” it internally from the beginning. They are born sensing “who they are”. It is the human animals’ Egos that change or stifle this natural flow of energy.
This card represents the pure energy of Spirit, happily desiring to connect with all Experiences of Matter. This card represents that moment of conception, formulation, conceiving. The beginning of Life in Matter. The completion of Life into Spirit. It is “beginning”. Here within this card the brilliant Source of all things is found. Light is emphasized in the Fool’s card symbols, as energy produces “light”, or “sound”. The Fool card is the first card that needs to be encoded, just like our dreams, because everything is seen through the lens of this card when exploring the creation story through the Tarot.
It is known as “The Fools Journey” after all.
A bit of advice some give when interpreting the Fool and their story is to not allow the Fool to fool you. By allowing yourself to become fully invested in only this story. Every choice of every moment opens the chance opportunity, or of Change and new possibilities Each step we take through as you will be shown through the study of the Monads in Tarot, is an insightful part of our Soul’s Journey through Self-Awareness, as explored through our clean curiosity of Self. Every step is seen as part of our initiation as Spirit into Matter, into life on this plane, this Time, in every way imaginable under the Sun.
Seeing through the Protoneira Monad and Tarot lens, the true meaning of the Tarot to some, is that it was designed as an allegory reflecting Universal processes for all levels of Consciousness including the violent Unconscious mind. It has been said that the Tarot was marketed to the public as a game called the Game of Life.
Yet, every allegory has symbolic meaning programmed into each symbol. Sometimes in our history, and of many histories, this has served a purpose. It is a story to be shared with every spiritually initiated Soul, KNOWLEDGE SHARED. Those that chose to be uninitiated will simply enjoy the Game of Life.
Some believe in holding nothing back, such as “Knowledge is free”. Others believe in having many secrets, such as those found in a gatekept society. All of these actions will effect the outcome of this “game”. It is wise to find a balance, a Way, a Discipline, of Self for your Soul’s Journey.
For those who choose to remain in their “Self Coma”, asleep or resting, we must remember that the Universe and their very own life cycles can set up additional “veils”, or thicker “veils” and it is their choice to not “see” or to remove their veils at any time to see the sublime. There is power there. It frustrates those who are not aware and try to “wake” them to the way to escape the perceived “miserable Experience” of the manifestation, or life. Help them. Show them. But do not exhaust the Time of personal Life attempting to change theirs. That speaks to an unevolved part of Self that we may personally need to explore, uncover and heal.
When the Soul evolves from one state to the next, The Fool says the Unexperienced, desires to have Experiences. May they be “awakening”? The more evolved a Soul is in their Monad, even in the First Stream, the easier it can be recognized that zero Experiences have been had at this point in time. Take for example, an individual evolving through the First Stream, awakening, and evolving through the First Monad, which is Physical… and they transition to Emotional. One may Experience an occasional pang of guilt or grief for an action but cannot stop whatever the action is, such as lying or stealing. The more evolved can tell these are “good Souls” but knows they can never change.
The Fool is willing to take the leap so that they may Experience fully, good - bad - indifferent, while knowing they have every internal Protection. Some just know they never “get in trouble” for anything, some begin to see all the powers of the Universe. But, they are still unable to essentially “change” who they are or where they are going, unless they are evolved Monadically through the First Stream Cycle.
Looking at this card, it reminds us that our being is forever young. We do not age… our bodies do. As we further study this card we see snow-capped mountains; the Fool is assumed to be on one of the highest peaks, so this individual is not a seeming novice mountain climber to travel such a height. Have you ever traveled to the highest peak in your life? Literally, or metaphorically? You are able to feel this exhilarating Experience through becoming adept at unencumbered Astral Travel and Lucid Dream. Even if you do not accomplish it in both your waking life, and are only adept at “one way”… doing this connects us to the manifestations of Divine Consciousness in our lives.
Remember, the mountain is an allegory. What is the mountain that you have conquered in life?
Then there is the flowered tunic depicting pride of appearance. Pride can be both “good” and “bad”. Appearances can be both Matter and Spirit. Since they are Prontonieraian, they celebrate all manner of symbols depicted on the tunic as well. They are the beginning finders of symbols and patterns in all things. Their small bag shows physical things (Matter) mean little, however, they packed enough to fully Experience a grand trip down into the deepest valley. They are ready. Better yet, they may have already taken the dive to the Dark Valley below! From where was the rose in their hand collected? Is it really there? Is it a memory they cherish from current Time, a life Past? Or, did they collect it from the fertile warm soil below —-or even in a snowy mound on top of the mountain?
Let us now consider the feather in their crown of greenery. This feather is a Key as it is found in many indigenous cultures, and in Western Esoteric Knowledge. It is also seen on the Death card and several other cards in the RWS deck. In human spiritual history, a feather is hung like this for Protection.
Is it not interesting that the crown/laurel with feather shows up on the Fool’s new life card and again with the Death card?
Think about this in the story of the tarot.
Another form of symbol the “feather in one’s cap”, representative of a tangible achievement in one’s existence. An Experience. Before you popped into this reality, it is thought that we each set up a Time where it was going to be the correct moment to speak to our Soul. Have you begun your Soul Work? You are into your Third Degree after all!
There is a Thought amongst Practitioners, Shamans and Witches, that requesting Nature to gift you with one or more feathers until you acknowledge that both the gift and the communication emanated from your Soul to your Spirit (Manifestation). Is it not curious that one of the main writing tools in our past were feathers? (Quills) #WitchesJournal The feather is a communication tool sent from Self to you at its most basic. Some Practitioners give this accolade to their Deity, which in essence many believe it is simply “us” in another form. We are all Divine as we are part the Divine. The magical mind receiving the feather of remembrance; communicating all Keys are our building blocks, or said another way, the Tarot contains the allegory to find our building blocks to help us learn from our Souls, the Protoniera part of Soul.
Looking in the background of this card, the full brilliant light that radiates out of the flaming star behind them gives their charge of full energy and reminds them from whence they came. The Sun represents full life. The White Dog is shown in Waite Rider Smith Deck and the Marseille shows the Feral Cat. The white dog represents the still mind is a good companion to your higher self. White dog depicts the pure mind, the well-trained mind and the disciplined mind. A moral and high minded individual exploring the world of matter, constantly investigating through high senses. While the Feral Cat represents the same, it is closer to Spirit than Matter.
Notice the Fool gazing upward which is understood by many Paths to mean that they”do not forget Universal Energy”, regardless of Path. (Its also an admittance of death or knowledge death when reading others. Advanced Physiognomy. Look into Susan Smith, who was convicted of murdering her children.) I digress. Most manifestations of Spirit for this Monad delightfully walk through each card of the Tarot as they have their Experiences of Life.
It is the immense power of the Fool that moves us through every Key.
The Fool is the Alchemist who goes through the entirety of that Journey. By taking chances, we can gain opportunities through Experiences so that we may collect Knowledge. The crown of leaves clearly reflects that The Fool, like every sacred human, is a worthy noble. If you are pure hearted —you are noble. (Do not misunderstand “pure”. The term has been corrupted by many dogmas. It simply means that the energy is unadulterated by another Thought or thing of Matter, Mental - Physical or Emotional.)
Now, let us consider the white rose The Fool is holding aloft. It has so many meanings, as mentioned above, however our task in learning this Monad and Stream Cycle is to be Focused on just that. Let us now discuss the rose within The Hierophant card.
The Hierophant
These “First Sleep” —Protoneira —Souls are often leaders in areas of morality, philosophy, or legality. They usually adhere strongly to ideals and principles, and can be quite unjust and unforgiving of others who do not walk their same or similar Path. Despite this, Protoneiras are all about structure, form, and theory of Matter. Prontoneira has translated the physical world into terms Spirit can understand, furthermore establishing patterns for interacting with the world of Matter through their Physical senses.
They are great Thinkers, but once having understood an idea, they find it very difficult to Change an opinion or adapt to a new concept, theirs or another’s. Take an evolved Scientist being unable to Change their Spirit Path despite finding facts of Science that support it. A Scientist of Astronomy who refuses medical treatment because their faith does not allow it, for example. There are other simple reasons that keep this Great Thinker from Change as well. Take Shadow, personal or familial. Unresolved Ego. All this is shown in The Hierophant card and recognized in several Streams of the First Monad.
Consequently Souls which come out of Protoneira are very strong on ideas of how things should work, but not so adept on follow through. The Hierophant, brings the never ending maintaining, all the while reminding us that creation never ends. Read that sentence again.
The Hierophant manifestation is representative of the ocncept that one establishes an agreement with Divine Energy or Spirit, so that Spirit may understand and Experience Matter.
In the card, as the Hierophant sits on his throne he delivers, with his right hand the esoteric sign of Divinity. In his left hand, the triple cross which represents the piercing of the three fold Life, Physical, Emotional and Mental (Or, Psychological.). Creative power is Divine and comes first before the Practitioner Mind is replaced with the mind of Deity. It is believed that the physical worlds need to agree in Divine Energy before life appears on this plane. (Reverend Richoz finds it interesting that we call it the “Left Hand Path” and deem it “wrong” … and then look what is in the left hand of the Hierophant. Not to mention what Proa is about metaphysically!)
The two columns represent the law that everyone tries to live up to and no-one is completely able to. Dualities and contradictions exist. This is why this Soul family gives liberty to everyone to break or not break their own strict rules, to Experience. Some do know and understand that there sometimes recognized collateral effects from the decisions made for everthing. The Marseille deck shows two upset men kneeling in front of the Hierophant. Even though their backs are to the Reader, their hand gestures are making it clear they are troubled. In the RWS deck, two elderly men are shown calmly kneeling. One is a priest, or man of a particular Path, wearing vestments of roses and the other is wearing vestments of white lilies.
You will quickly discover the rose and lily shows up often in the cards, which means they are conveying something important to act upon.
”A Divine message.”
So, let us talk about the lilies and roses. Lilies were said to be made of the breast milk of the Greek Goddess Hera, a symbol of motherhood and birth.
Proa is “to conceive” … to be born …. to manifest.
The myth goes on to say that when Zeus caused Hera to sleep, it was in order for his son from another mother, Hercules, could suckle at his wife Hera’s breast. Hera’s milk began to overflow. The overflow shot upward creating our Milky-Way; the milk stream that shot downward onto earth produced a white lily and Hercules became a God. (As far as we can surmise, every one that suckled Hera’s breast became a God!) The lily represents both female and male vibrations and all that is aligned between them.
Long ago wives’ tales would say, approach a pregnant woman holding a lily in one hand and a rose in the other hand. If the woman selects the lily the town would know a new baby boy is entering their community. And if the rose was selected, the good fortune a baby girl often brings will soon arrive. If both are selected, a very wise individual is arriving.
The main interpretation the lily brings us when looking at this card is the sacred phrase, “remembering the promise.” We are remembering the concept of becoming, renewal and transitioning. Whether we promised Self, or something Divine. We must not fear that Transition through Death. There is hope when you are passionate. Try to understand true, Unconditional, freedom. The lily can also be found in the Magician (1), not just the and the Hierophant (5) within the Major Arcana.
“Five to one, baby One in five No one here gets out alive…”
Jim knew. He said as much. Many great artists, great thinkers, lived this story. Spiritually awakened but Matter was their vice, their Expereince. First Monad. Last Stream Cycle. We are wise to Unconditionally love, and Accept if we cannot understand.
“There are things known and there are things unknown. In between are The Doors. (Veils)”
The rose, is the quest for understanding in the unfolding Universe, forever rebirthing. A symbol that says “all things with pure motives are included”. Aphrodite’s slain lover’s blood poured into a pool of water with which a rose bush grew out of depicting Unconditional, Universal, Divine Love. Another symbology, we see sometimes is when a rose is placed in a meeting, it means “secrets revealed here remain here”. When Romans hung roses over their meeting table it meant that nothing said shall leave this table, sometimes called the sub-rose. In the Tarot it means secrets are only hidden from the unfocused or uninitiated and it is a symbol of balance. The thorns represent thoughtlessness, physicality and loss. This life is light, this light is life, says the rose.
The rose steps forward in the Fool (0), Magician (1), The Empress (3), and Death card (13) which reduces to (4), the Hierophant (5), and Strength (8).
As an aside, when studying each card for story lines remove all color for consideration. (Colors have additional meanings.) However, if the cards are being utilized for divination then the colors are very helpful along with the numerals or letters assigned to each card as they all have value.
The Chariot
These manifestations of Soul are about overcoming the conflicts that arise in their lives quickly, … and efficiently, most times. They seem to always be moving forward in a positive direction when not caught up in Matter, theirs or anothers. They feel the drive to keep going on and through sheer hard work and commitment —good, bad, indifferent, “they will be victorious”. This is often times a good trait to have in your Medicine bag, as if you are reading this, you have gone this Monad at least once already. Made it through this far again and KNOW there is something more.
What is stopping you?
Look at the meaning of The Chariot this way too, for bad traits. If a “wheel” — whatever that represents in this life situation— becomes warped or flat on one side, it makes the chariot inefficient in transport, or movement forward.
The individual begins to thwart the victory of Self and its Intent.
For the meaning of the Chariot: Having accomplished their primary purpose, Protoneira Souls often become stuck and could go no further, simply repeating the Monad or Stream. They understand concepts well and are excellent at codifying and establishing patterns, but are not very adept at initiating those patterns into action or adapting to circumstances for beneficial Change. They can be very morally inspiring in a passive way, conversely if called upon to use their moral structure in an active way they often have difficulty in doing so.
This inability to move forward with their ideas is the greatest challenge for Protoneira Souls.
Studying the Chariot card we are wise to first acknowledge that sometimes duality may exist in a circumstance. Then, looking at the card, notice the stream of water behind the chariot, highlighting the Element Water, or Consciousness in one of its many forms. The Memory of All Things. Water is also the ultimate in recycling and continually transforming over and over. The ultimate butterfly! This process starts from solid to liquid to vapor to evaporation, then returning to Earth once again as liquid or a delicate solid or a firm solid, a complete metamorphosis. (Water Cycle)
Within the Chariot card, this seemingly crowned conquer is but a paper tiger, so to speak. They only “look fierce”. Consider the facial expression. Look at it with Physiogenic lenses. At times they seem to have a dazed -- “not all there” expression on their face. Flat smile. Emotionless eyes. Entombed inside a chariot with four solid Columns all representing the four elements in nature that we embody. Fire, Air, Water, Earth. Though a beautiful and well-built chariot, it is not advancing nor does this well-dressed noble have any control of the two sphinxes, or horses, one black and one white, representing Active energy and Passive energy. Both energies are equally limitless and strong in their own way. And most powerful is when humankind can discover how to work with both, or all, together. The transverse can be true as well.
Consider that strength and poise are hidden beneath a gruff exterior. Consider that even though the individual may be “going no where” they are not distrubed, they are Protect by the Powers That Be, whether they know it or not.
Also consider the presence of both female and male energies when finally combined together — when humankind will take a giant leap in the far future. Is Gen Z stronger than Gen X? Some speculate that is why we have the social issues now with recognizing ALL genders are now here. But, how one identifies, or identity, is up to YOU.
Regardless, the Chariot is resting and/or going nowhere; opposite of the seeming goal of when humankind learns to use both and not harness them to the chariot or they are “free willed” with no reigns attached. Are they choosing this? The Noble is not advancing in his chariot. The cubical shape represents foundational beginning of Self. The First Monad. As stated earlier, this is the place where Shadow and Ego Work begin too. In the “Symbolism of the Tarot of the Bohemian” by Milton A Pottenger, they describe in part, this card.
“It shows the influence of the creation, in the preservation of the Divine in the human, man performing the function of God the creator.”
Does the deck you have chosen to compare with, or bring along, show something similar?
While we do not subscribe to “man” only or “God” per se, our interpretation is that all four figures within this card express the foundational processes that are being explored for the first time when we manifest and are all discovering how humans learned to relate to Spirit and Spirit to humans Experiencing Matter, a new Soul born of the stars. When we say “four figures”, we are including the noble, the two seemingly female sphinx and the card’s name The Chariot.
Advanced Practicum
Soul Mapping
Remember when we envisioned the “orb planets” before us? The other Beings coming into Awareness as we look upon them inside the Strem of Consciousness? It is thought by many advanced Practitioners that simply Knowing where your Soul is emanating from may aid you in evolving that Soul through the current Stream of Consciousness. This can be done through Self exploration, meditation, continuous Ego and Shadow work, and various other explorations of Self and what you sense around you.
Every stage of a Practitioner’s life is different from the previous, just as those parallel to us. Even a living thing that is not Mental, “mentally competent”, will stil Experience Change in the Physical. Such as, they will still physically age. We move through stages in “age” as well. They say things like “wisdom comes with age” for a reason. You cannot Know, not every time, what the Experience of age is for THIS manifestation. You can only Know “age” or “aging” through previous or future Experiences you have called home through Soul Retrieval. Another example: Maiden, Mother, Crone. Bachelor, Father, Hermit. Words from other Paths, but common to all. It is found that embracing the stages of “aging” often exemplify what the Soul is to do in this evolution through to the next. Some attempt to be a more Aware Conscious Incarnate. If a practitioner does not embrace the constant Change that is, it can become extremely difficult to evolve spiritually and awaken to new pieces of your Journey thereby almost guaranteeing that a Soul will restart where they left off in their evolution/de-evolution in each life.
That Being may become depressed and even suicidal when that “lost” or “trapped” feeling goes on too long.
Spend some time with this concept.
Not only does the “individual” have to be addressed to evolve, but also familial aspects, Community aspects, global, Universal, etc. This is true for other concepts of growth/decay as Shadow and Ego. Knowing where your Spirit Self is at this time can also greatly improve the flow of energy into your Magick and Medicine. After the Knowing of this, your Stream Cycle of Consciousness comes your need to map your reality. #RealityMapping Know what is yours to own. Know what benefits YOUR Journey.
