Intermediate Psychic Energy
…Clairs…
Refresher

Recall, when we look at the term “psychic”, we often see it has been taken extremely far out of context. The abilities we all naturally possessto some degree, have become somewhat blemished,

Will we ever learn to embrace the innate and natural and allow ourselves to have a spiritual “homecoming”?

When looking to the English language for the meaning of this term, we feel it is going to be a difficult climb.

MYSTIC, OR PSYCHIC
To CLAIR-ify, a psychic is one who uses their naturally occurring ability to communicate with Higher Self, Spirit, the Divine, both giving and receiving messages of blessing, guidance, thought, etc.  Some can “just do this”, some require an altered state, others have to work at maintaining this different spiritual vibration.  

Think, “powered by me”.

However, a mystic or prophet is usually also endowed with a purely Intuitive gift that is facilitated in a more “normal” state of being, if you call your thoughts being overrun by a Divine Entity “normal”. They can sense the atmosphere of Divine energy.

Think, “powered by other”.

Either way, the psychic receives information on a dynamic spiritual level too and must work to decipher what is being said sometimes. No two psychics “See” things exactly the same.

PSYCHICS
There are many types of psychic, or spiritual abilities that humans INNATELY have.  Which do you seem to have? Have you been exploring? A spiritually receptive person may acquire the tuning and utilize any number of these, at any time, not just during Ceremony or Seance.

With Intent, you too can strengthen your “spiritual chops” if you will.

ANCIENT MYSTICS & PROPHETS
Muhammed had these abilities around the same time the Jesus discovered His. Odin is psychically Intuitive. Hekate has both Intuitive and Psychic Wisdom. The capabilities exist throughout all Spiritual Diaspora…. all things have energy.

You may already have these abilities and not realize it, or even realize you have it but NOT “how much” or “how well” you can actually Oracle or Divine because you do not explore it with Self. Since they are perceived aside from or a heightened use of the five known senses, sight, sound, taste, touch, or smell, the clairs are sometimes referred to as the sixth sense or extrasensory perception (ESP). But are they really “extra”?

We do not think so. When a person begins to Awaken to their true Self and divine potential, spiritual or psychic abilities will begin to emerge and develop more freely. Abilities that have always been there become more obvious. Having some point of reference for this will assist in the tuning process.

It is of note, with such stigma and fear associated with the paranormal these days, it is important to dispel any fear you personally  may have of such a phenomenon. Conditioned fear of a natural spiritual ability will certainly be a hindrance to your using it with your personal practices. In order to be equipped to do the same strong magick works that other Practitioners call on to manifest, we need to utilize these innate and natural tools, too.

CLAIRS
Clairvoyance – Clair means “clear.” Clairvoyance, or clear vision, allows you to see with your mind’s eye. This allows you to pick up on information about the world around you by seeing images or symbols that pertain to something going on in it. A clairvoyant person may see with their physical or spiritual eyes, shadows, angels, spirits, orbs, and other images in the spiritual world. This manifests whenever the third eye (or 6th chakra) is open and clear and may manifest in dreams or visions. Having your personal Shadow in check is crucial here.
 

Clairaudience – Clear Hearing. Another psychic ability is that of clairaudience, in which messages are received from etheric realms through hearing. People having this gift may hear spirit messages audibly or within their mind. This is the gift Joan of Arc used, for example. Reverend Richoz hears lyrics or lines of grammar from various forms.

Clairtangence – Touch or Feeling. Some people have the ability of psychometry, which is the ability to touch an object and receive accurate information about the object, owner, creator, etc, whether living or passed on. This can occur with them having no previous knowledge.

Clairsentience – Sensing Feeling. This brings the gut feeling or “knowing” of something about another object, animal, or person without having human knowledge of it beforehand. (Someone telling you and you forgetting you were told is NOT clairsentience!)

Clairempathy –  Sensing Emotion of Another. Clairempathy allows a person to feel (within their body or emotions) the feelings, pain or needs of another person or animal or the ability to feel the emotion tied to an object. Whenever there is a world catastrophe or an instance where there is nearby suffering, people with this ability may begin to pick up on this energy and become a surrogate.

If you find you are having unexplained pain or emotions that surface without cause, you may be picking up on energy from elsewhere. It is important for the person with clairemplathy to know how to set spiritual boundaries or else clear the energy from their field. This is yet another place to have your personal Shadow in check.

Clairgustance –Clairgustance has to do with receiving a message from the spiritual realm through the sense of taste. You may be able to taste something that you have not eaten or even been near. Ask your internal guidance for clarification about why you are “tasting” this message.

Clairalience – Clairalience means “clear smelling”.  This is being able to smell odors that do not have any clear physical source. Instances of this could include smelling the perfume or the cigarette smoke of a deceased relative or Elcer, used as a sign of their presence around us. When our sense of smell is strong and distinct, we may find that certain smells connect us to past memories or we may be drawn to working as a florist, a wine taster or a perfume fragrance creator. Many have smelled roses and other heavenly scents while praying. This ability is akin to clear taste or clairgustance.

Other Abilities

ORACLE
Prophetic or Revelatory  – On some Paths, any of the aforementioned natural abilities may be considered prophetic in nature due to their ability to foretell the future or transmit a message from the “heavenly realms”. This is an oversimplification.  As an example, as it is one of the longest maintained written holy chronicles, the Bible speaks of nine abilities of the Spirit and divides them into three categories: speaking, knowing and doing.

Under the category of speaking abilities come the ability of prophecy, tongues and interpretation of tongues. The knowing abilities are words of wisdom, words of knowledge and discerning of spirits. The doing abilities are faith, healing and working of miracles. These abilities are still relevant today.

Looking at this, we know there are many other Paths these stories were taken from. All that should do for you as a Practitioner of the Arcane Arts is validate your Path, as it is what came from others Paths that is “truth”, no matter who is holding the book. These abilities we have are natural and innate. Any Practitioner that has read any of the great Books of Time, such as the Sumerian Tablets or the Rigveda,  can tell you this. Even those who study the younger texts written thousands of years later can attest to these abilities of Spirit. Even personal Experience can attest.


HEALING
Ability to Heal  – As you grow in your spiritual progress, you may notice that you have the ability to heal others as well as yourself. Healing Self is of utmost importance. If you are well, carry on. If you are not, then the energy you are trying to pass, may NOT go where you Intent it, it may truly “go where needed” … and that need is in YOU. Please keep that in mind when trying to heal others.


TELEPATHY
Telepathy - Telepathy allows for “mind to mind” or “spirit to spirit:, or the combination of the two abilities. This is a form of communication without the use of TANGIBLE verbal or physical signs, language or symbols. You will have ethese things appear in the Mind’s Eye when utilizing the ability.

Telepathy between people and animals is a proven fact. A mother can know instinctively when her children are in danger, and we all “tap in” to this type of energy. But what is it? Telepathy is communication from mind to mind or soul to soul without any visible means of physical contact. Contact on a higher plane, however, is very real. When you work magick, you contact your Higher Self or a Deity, or Element, etc.

There are dozens of other abilities that can fall into this discussion, but, you get it. These abilities are natural and we as humans should have kept them honed all along … like that cat, or dog, that won’t go into a room because it “sees” or “smells” something. We must attune.

In the future, you may be doing a spell to improve your psychic abilities. There is not one Practitioner we know of at Three Circles Medicine who does this spell and did not have “some” result.

Think About It

Mudras

“Where Your Attention Goes, Energy Flows.”

Do you recall that phrase? All Practitioners are wise to know this.

A mudra is a gesture or posture/body action that depicts your Intent.

It could be daily. Weekly. Monthly. Or, maybe you have been working at this for a while.

Let us refresh with some examples:

WHAT IS A MUDRA
We have all seen the meditation mudra where the thumb and forefinger are pressed together?

What about when hands are clasped in prayer?

We have seen and used mudras throughout all time and on many Paths. A purist will tell you they are “only in Buddhism or Hinduism”.

We disagree.

A mudra is any movement, hand gesture, posture, etc, where it energetically triggers, or you expect, something to occur when you perform it.

Think about it.

What are you supposed to do when the police officer holds up their hand to traffic?

What about when a friend throws their hand in the air before you and smiles?

These are mudras.

For the next few days, whether you have a Book of Shadows, Grimoire, or not, consider these items for entry.

After looking at each one, pause, see yourself doing it – or not, and move to the next.

MUDRA TYPES
PROTECTION - With your hand, or a finger, draws a pentagram in the air before you for “protection”. Or, when you “cross” yourself during Mass.

INTUITION - Touching your Third Eye to stimulate Intuition before the act of Oracle or Divination.  

INVOCATION - To invoke a Deity, outstretch an arm above/before/below you as if reaching to touch the Deity’s energy. When you feel you have, pull your arm back toward your heart center. Hand placement is as you deem it for the purpose of Invocation.

HEALING - Laying a hand over a body part/chakra to send healing energy, the Heart for example.

BANISH – With the receiving hand, Left, (If that is your belief as well), elevated to be receptive of Divine Energy, and making a sweeping motion with your Right hand of any space or person (you) that you wish to clean/clear.

These are just a few mudras that we use here at TCMed, or have in the past. Intent is everything.
