In Norse mythology, Njörðr is the God of the sea, wind, wealth, and is associated with sailors and fishermen. He is considered the Deity that is most often called upon for "wealth-bestowal" or prosperity, and is said to grant great riches to those who venerate Him graciously on the Norse Path.

Who is His Family?
Njörðr is the father of Freyr and Freyja by His sister, Nerthus. He was originally a member of the Vanir, the Norse pantheon of Fertility Gods, but was given as a hostage to the Aesir to maintain peace.
How Is He Depicted?
Njörðr is often depicted holding a scepter, which symbolizes His great authority over many things of Matter.
Where is He Mentioned?
Njörðr is mentioned in the Poetic Edda, the Prose Edda, Snorri's Heimskringla, and the 14th century Icelandic manuscript Hauksbók. He is also the subject of many Scandinavian place names that are easily seen to this day.
