”Yona”
At Three Circles Medicine & Magick™ we have three main Animal Allies that help teach Practitioners through Reverend Richoz. As we learned in Wahya Circle, First Degree"™, and throughout Golanv Circle, Second Degree™, the three are Wolf (Wahya), Raven (Golanv) and Bear (Yona), in that order. (Each of the preceding parenthetical words are of Cherokee origin.) The animals each provide Knowledge for a different take on Magick and what it entails to heal Self or develop through their Knowledge that they offer.
In the beginning, it is Wahya, or Wolf Magick that you walk with. The power of the wolf is introduced through various Lessons with the Intent of the quote, ““…the strength of the Wolf is the pack, and the strength of the pack is the Wolf.” Lessons are Crafted to embody this Intent of empowerment through the “pack”. Partner and Group Spell are examples. In the Cherokee language, when we hear a wolf howl, we say wayanigawe, and we add wayani (he is calling) if we hear but do not see them. Therefore, the wolf is named by the sound it makes and is the symbolic animal that represents the aniwaya, Wolf Clan amongst Cherokee.
We then transition to Golanv (Go - lah - nuh), or Crow/Raven in Golanv Circle, Second Degree™. It is known amongst many that Wolf and Raven, or Crow, work together. The Raven flies overhead and the Wolf watches where it goes; follows it. The Wolf finds what the Raven has spotted and they both enjoy a meal, or fresh water. They work together in both the mundane and magickal. Spiritually we learned that Raven symbolizes prophecy, insight, transformation, and intelligence. We also learn that Ravens are seemingly more content with a few close allies or friends over a group. Practitioners with a Raven spirit animal often prefer quiet over noise and stillness over constant movement.
YOU NOW HAVE BEEN WALKING WITH YONA CIRCLE.
We know that some Practitioners believe that Bear or Polar Bear are Spirit Animals/Guides/Totems that can offer guidance and strength at any point during our Experiences. For example, if you see a polar bear during a meditation, it might be a sign that you need to tap into your inner power and dive deep. The polar bear can also represent independence, an important qualities that you are to seek in order to succeed in life.
While Wolf, Raven, and Bear are present in foundational cosmology, mythology, and magick from around the world – we forget that we already embody the SAME POWER and abilities at all times. They are here as our kindred and as a part of the same whole, to represent that memory for us. They do NOT represent the TV trope of “they have the power, we must call on them.”
No. They are here to remind us that we too are capable, magickal, beings. They are here to help us recall that ancient, akashic, memory that many have forgotten. They symbolically represent many different things for many different Paths.

Comparative Practices 103
Polar Bear
Polar Bear is one of the most respected Spirit Guides in the world. To walk with Polar Bear is found as an honor amongst many Practitioners from around the globe. They have a very “majestic” presence, as it has been described. These giant, strong bears closely connect with sea, land, ice, and sky and can help us navigate through many situations in both the mundane and magickal. Polar Bear Practitioners have an extremely powerful Intuition, or they will look to Polar Bear for assistance in honing that power even futher.
Because of its innate strength, Polar Bear is often trekking alone confidently. They have inner knowledge, both innate wisdom and instinct in abundance and are always willing teachers, especially to their young. Calling on Polar Bear can help us access our personal inner fierceness and fearlessness in order to brave through even the most treacherous or seemingly desolate of times in life. They understand purpose and have the ability to align with energies greater than they alone are, such as the Earth’s magnetic polarities or guiding us through Trauma during Shadow Work. As stated strength, power, and leadership are some of its most powerful traits, even in the Astral realms.
The phrase we associate with Polar Bear magick is, “you must surrender to become master”.
Explore what the meaning of that statement is to you. Explore unresolved Shadow. Ask for Polar Bear to visit with you. Experience Polar Bear in a meditation or dream journey if you have not already done so. Ask how to “check Ego” in a different way. Learn the plight of the Polar Bear in its habitat. Be magickal together!

TIPS SHARED WITH OTHER GROUPS:
CHOOSE SOMETHING TO FOCUS ON EACH DAY.
(Yes, it can be “small” and only significant to YOU. NOT what someone else “thinks” you “should” do or think.)
That is your task for Moon Day.
You will Journal, preferably at the end of the day, answering the following IF you are divinely guided to do so:
How was Intent set for the day?
What is your FIRST incident of ACTION/INACTION related to that Intent?
For example:
Action – showed all living things (Plant and Animal) love in the home BEFORE departing for the chosen destination.
Inaction – seeing a young mother struggling with groceries while out running errands and not helping.
(The better thing to have done according to most, and those that would have rather had the help, try this: rather than insult her perceived inadequacies --offer her HELP in her overwhelming state. Perhaps let her tend to her child as you load her groceries into her car.)
How did you end your day?
Other ways to start or end your days:
Divination – what did you ask, what was the result?
Self Care – what did you do, what was the result?
Meditation – what was the prevailing thought that you had to allow to float by? How did you address it?
Watch a sunrise or sunset – what were your thoughts/Intent?
Stir a beverage with Intent – what is the Intent?
Again, the list of ways to imbue your day with positive change is endless. Let’s see what you’re made of! <3
