Magick & Medicine
Beginning Energy Work
Star Magick
Our tiny solar system, Milky Way, seems rather minute, or microcosmic, when compared with the vastness of the rest of the Universe. Just reading our full cosmic address: Earth, The Solar System, Orion Arm, The Milky Way, Local Group, Virgo Cluster, Virgo Super-Cluster, Universe… can give many Practitioners great pause. Despite that, there is enormous energy available for each of us to access from the Universe.
Many Practitioners through their various methods, already tap into the energy that is there. Practitioners like those of Reiki, Chaos, etc, already utilize this resource. We are wise to remember though, this energy does not solely exist for “magickal” purposes, as the balance of All That Is utilizes it to remain so too.
Our view of cosmology today is directly related to our conditioned cultural world view. Until we break away from that through both Shadow and Ego work, we limit ourselves to what results we can produce in our magick, or the healing in our medicine with that specific lens. As long as we are comfortable with where we walk and who we are as an individual, MORE POWER TO US. All of “creation” is reflexive.
Reality tends to shape itself around what we have conditioned ourselves, or have been conditioned, to Experience. Remember, “like attracts like”. In fact, everything that is woven together is done so in a sacred Time and Space relative to what our individual condition with Self in what we choose to believe.
”No two Paths are the same.”
This is where we are reminded again of the topics “Self Possession” and “poltergeists”, both misunderstandings of “What Is”. Energies exist that we have access to that most humans have forgotten how to Experience fully due to conditioning, usually as a by product of society, fearmongering from a dogmatic practice, or a habit picked up from a caregiver.
This latter occurrence is in the psyche of every child. Shadow is born this way. It can be given potential to exist by that child simply so it may survive. I.e., “Mom does not like gray, so I do not wear gray.” The child never understanding WHY Mom disliked gray logically or illogically. The child grows up “not liking gray” with no logical reason.
Have you explored that? Understanding the “why” of our habits is a HUGE portion of the continuous Shadow and Ego Work we do as Practitioners.
With this exercise we are going to introduce you to a limitless and unconditional energy source for just such an exploration of Self.
You will need to be rested, comfortable, fed and free of all preconceived notions about this kind of Work. Place what you already understand about the world around you, or that you have learned walking another Path, even pause your personal beliefs —-to LISTEN to the offering this Lesson has for you WITHOUT BIAS. We are not asking you to begin practicing this sort of Craft, but simply come to know the energy we are all already a part of in both Matter and Spirit.
Take a moment to prepare a space for a brief meditation.
Try to arrange for “no disturbance” for the next 15 minutes or so while you are listening to Reverend Richoz and one of her first readings as interpreted from her Book of Shadows.
We will each build on this in our own ways.
PLEASE NOTE:
Three Circles Medicine & Magick was once named All Paths Magick School when it first began.
Guided Meditation:
Introduction to the Stars
Deities of Earth 101
Varied Goddess
One of the most common terms amongst Western Esoteric Practitioners and Neopagans is “triple goddess”. The origin of this term is found in Western Esotericism, such as Wicca, although older Goddesses have other forms too. The most utilized is the “Mother” aspect as it is used on many Paths.
For the Triple Goddess we will only examine the aspect of “Mother” with this Lesson. It is not essential that you work with a God nor a Goddess for these studies.
GREAT MOTHER
In the aspect of binary feminine energy, each aspect is as important as the other. Their names respectively are: Maiden, Mother and Crone. The three are representative of the cycles of creation and recreation with ‘Mother’ most often being called upon in Medicine and Magick.
For many, the Mother is known as the Creator of the Universe. Some even believe She created it from Herself and governs it as a mother would her children. Her love is without condition. In the Vangelo della Streghe, “Gospel of Witches”, their Practitioners are taught the Primordial Goddess divided Herself between the God (Material world) and the Goddess (Spiritual world); that there is energy beyond our simple binary perception.
In the Gospel of Witches, a mostly Wiccan take on Craft and one of their most sacred texts for that Path, the Mother Goddess is the Spirit that binds all things. As other Practitioners know it, She takes on many forms, represented by the Moon and governing the night for example. Here are a few of Her other incarnations for your knowing, as it is understood, when you invoke the Mother Goddess, you invoke one of Her MANY forms.
Demeter
This is the Greek Goddess of Earth and is the Creator of Agriculture and the growth of all things as a gift to humankind. The name “De Meter” simply means, “The Mother”.
Devi
Devi, also known as Mahadevi or 'Great Goddess', is an all-embracing Mother Goddess, from the Vedic period, she was assimilated into the Hindu pantheon and came to represent the female energy or Sakti (Power)
Gaia (or Ge)
Greek Goddess of Earth, Primeval Mother.
Kunapipi
Also spelled Gunabibi (“womb”), is a Mother Goddess and the patron deity of the Australian Aborigine. She gave birth to all Matter-kind.
Nüwa
Nüwa, also read Nügua, is the Chinese Mother Goddess. She created humanity and repaired the Pillar of Heaven.
Selu
Cherokee (Tribe) Mother Goddess of the Harvest.
Yemaja
African Goddess of Sea and all life-giving water. Mother Goddess.
Hekate, the Morrigan, and others are considered “triple goddess” as well. They have the aspects of all of creation. They appear as three separate entities most times, sisters, etc. Let us begin here as most forms of Goddess are associated with the moon, which we are intently watching as we walk Wahya Circle. We are looking at “Mother” to begin with for use in our Craft.
Correspondences 101
Astronomy Essentials
“Everyone looking up at the moon from any spot on the globe sees the same moon, in more or less the same phase. So why might photos of the moon taken on a single night – but from different parts of Earth – look different?”
Take a moment and familiarize yourself with the Moon as viewed from your hemisphere, the celestial body that represents so many Goddess’. Selene, Luna, Artemis, and so on. If you are going to work with any of those represented by the moon, know it, study it, learn how to find it any time, day or night.
