Animal Allies
”Wahya”
At 3CMM™ we have three main Animal Allies that help teach Practitioners through various Lessons. As we learn in Wahya Circle, First Degree™, the three are Wolf (Wahya), Raven/Crow (Golanv) and Bear (Yona), in that order. (Each of the parenthesis words are of Tsalagi (Cherokee) origin. The animals each provide Knowledge for a different take on Magick and Medicine for each Practitioner as well as what it entails to heal Self or develop through their Knowledge that they offer.
In the beginning, it is Wahya, or Wolf Magick that we walk with. The power of the Ally Wolf is introduced through various Lessons with the Intent of the quote, ““…the strength of the Wolf is the pack, and the strength of the pack is the Wolf.” Lessons are Crafted to embody this Intent of empowerment through the pack. Our Partner and Group Spell are examples. In the Tsalagi language, when we hear a wolf howl, we say wayanigawe, and we add wayani (he is calling) if we hear but do not see them. Therefore, the wolf is named by the sound it makes and is the symbolic animal that represents the aniwaya, Wolf Clan amongst Cherokee.
YOU ARE WALKING WAHYA CIRCLE, AND HAVE BEEN.
While Wolf is present in foundational cosmology, mythology, Magick and Medicine from around the world – we forget that we embody the SAME POWER and abilities at all times. They are here as our kindred and as a part of the same whole, to stand in the gap and represent that memory for us. They do NOT represent the TV trope of “they have the power, we must call on them.”
No. The Wolf is here to remind us that we too are capable, Magickal beings with healing capabilities in our Medicine. They are here to help us recall that ancient, akashic, memory that many have forgotten. With that stated, we accept that they symbolically represent many different things for many different Paths.

Two Wolves
Many of us know the story told over and over amongst us. But, do you know the non-TV trope story?
We will begin by stating that a story such as this is typically used to showcase an embodied trait, or desired trait to reawaken in the human animal. It is about the balance, or homeostasis, between our spirits and the unhealthy Ego of Matter that is often found throughout our Experiences. As we know, there IS healthy Ego, but it is a serving Ego for you, NOT a disservice to you.
Wolf keeps that balance, and knows its purpose.
If Ego could always get its way, temperamental, it would stay in the front seat and drive most of us into the ground, over, and over, and over again. However, we are wise to understand that most unhealthy Ego grows out a place of “fear”. Fear of an action/inaction. Fear of the unknown. FEAR. It is our duty to our spirit and our human to override this unfounded and often crippling behavior. It affects us in both Spirit and Matter.
It is our responsibility when we choose to evolve to increase our Self-awareness, strengthen our foundational personal practices, and grow more as a human so our Spirit may slide into that seat. The goal of our spirit driving us through Matter is that it happens from a place of LOVE. We in turn are not only more gentle with ourselves, but with others… not “just humans” but the other animals too.
Many Practitioners agree that the Experience of Life is much easier to go through with Spirit and its Unconditional Love driving.
Here is our version of the story as told through Reverend Richoz:
Cherokee Wolf Wisdom
The Two Wolves
One evening a Cherokee Elder told her granddaughter about an imbalance that exists inside of all of us —to varying degrees. She said, “My daughter, the imbalance is between two wolves inside us all.”
“One is driven by – treachery, anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and unhealthy Ego.” (Shadow)
“The other is driven by – loyalty, joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, courage, Unconditional Love healthy Ego.” (Golden Shadow)
The granddaughter thought about it for a moment and then asked her grandmother, “Which wolf remains stronger?”
The Cherokee Elder simply replied, “The one you feed.”
We all know the story. Changed by telling as it may be, we still are wise to ask ourselves, are we paying attention to what it is telling us? As you move forward this week, remember this simple yet powerful message and these few tips:
~ Notice which wolf you are feeding with your thoughts, words and actions every moment of every day.
~ Make the needed changes through meditation, forgiveness, Self-healing, acts of kindness, share love with others, expanding Self-love, on and on.
- Begin to feed the wolf that reduces your suffering and increases the joy and love for your Self, and for the world all around you.
CHOOSE SOMETHING TO FOCUS ON EACH DAY.
Yes, it can be something as seemingly mundane as “small” and only significant to YOU… NOT what someone else “thinks” you “should” do.
That is your task this week.
You will Journal each day next week to 3CMM, preferably at the end of the day, answering the following for each day:
How was Intent set for the day?
What is your FIRST incident of ACTION/INACTION related to that Intent?
For example:
Action – showed all living things (Plant and Animal) love in the home BEFORE departing for the chosen destination.
Inaction – seeing a young mother struggling with groceries while out running errands and not helping.
(The better thing to have done according to most, and those that would have rather had the help. Instead of consciously ignoring someone in need, try this: rather than insult her perceived inadequacies --offer her HELP in her overwhelming state. Perhaps let her tend to her child as you load her groceries into her car.
How did you end your day?
Other ways to start or end your days:
Divination – what did you ask, what was the result?
Self Care – what did you do, what was the result?
Meditation – what was the prevailing thought that you had to allow to float by? How did you address it?
Watch a sunrise or sunset – what were your thoughts/Intent?
Stir a beverage with Intent – what is the Intent?
Again, the list of ways to imbue your day with positive change is endless. Let’s see what you’re made of! <3
