Beginning Practicum
Sigil Craft II

As stated many times, “no two Paths are the same.” As we began exploring sigil a little more last week, we would like to share another take from a well versed Sigil Craft Practitioner who at the time of writing this was a Golanv Guide. They have now completed their Third Degree. There are always nuanced differences, but the method is sound. Is it similar to yours? Is it different?

SIGIL by Practitioner Luna ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆

A Sigil is a symbol you create to focus your Intent and help bring about manifestation.

There are as many ways to create and use sigils as there are ntentions.  There are sigils that have been created and passed down but I always prefer to make my own, and infuse it with my intent.

Here is a great way to focus your intent and create a sigil.  This way, you will tap into something deep and intuitive and embedded into your subconscious mind.

1.     Define your Intent/Focus: First and foremost make sure your intention is focused.  Try to use one sentence or one word if possible.  Set your goal, your intention, visualize what you want to manifest. Use present tense and be positive. Use “I am” and stay away from negative words like “don’t, won’t, etc.”

2.     Get specific: Write out the phrase or word, then remove all the vowels and repeating letters.  For they letter Y or any other letters from various alphabets that you are unsure about, follow your gut.  It’s YOUR sigil and it comes from you, do you feel like you want to use it?  For this example, we will use the phrase “I AM POWERFUL.” This intent will end up with the letters:  M P W R F L

3.     Design the symbol: Use the letters to create the symbol by combining them to form your magical image.  There is no wrong way of doing this.  Try different ways until you are happy with your final image.  Feel free to use symbols that represent your intent.  For example, for success or wealth you may use the money symbol “$” to represent money, or a heart to represent love, self-love, or a peace sign to represent, well… peace.  Letters can be drawn upside down, sideways, backwards, and they can double up like b and d and even p or q could be the same lines, where m n or A and V can also double up.  Feel free to up other sigils online for inspiration and finishing touches like swirls or dots.  Also feel free to enclose it in a circle, sealing it.

4.     Activate it: Once you are happy with your sigil it is time to activate it.  You may meditate on it, focus on it, visualize it, trace it with your fingers, saying the phrase or word out loud, dance, clap, chant, and pray over it.  Imagine energy flowing from your fingers to the sigil. Draw it on a piece of paper or on a bay leaf and use fire to burn it. Carve it on a candle, rub oil on it, add glitter and light the candle. Draw it on your body with a temporary marker, or corresponding intention oil.  Healing and love symbols can also be drawn or traced on food.  You can trace it on the air on top of your food before eating or drinking. One of my favorite ways of using a sigil is sewing it on to pieces of clothing.  Only I know it’s there.

5.     Carry on: Once this is done, you don’t have to memorize it.  Let it go. It’ll be in your subconscious and do its magick.  Follow your intuition. If you feel the sigil could use some recharging, recharge it whichever way your intuition leads you.  You will know what to do.  You. ARE. Magick.
